Ageing is a horror to most of people but we can deny it in the timeline of our life. However, we can avoid the process of skin ageing. The first things to do is to know what makes our skin look older. One main reason mentioned in this post is our habits.

Our habits are one of the factors that boost ageing process. Even small habits like hopping in the bed with makeup on, too much exercising, or even too much sunbathing can have an adverse effect on your skin.

Here in this post, we will give you more about some of the harmful skin habits that you should avoid until it’s too late. Take a look:

1.     Too Much Sun Exposure:

Well vitamin D in sun rays is beneficial for your bones and body. But, too much exposure to the sun can actually harm your skin. According to experts, sun is a primary cause for skin ageing. The skin-damaging UV rays can even harm you on a rainy, cloudy or a snowy day. Experts recommend applying a sunscreen every time you step out to prevent your skin from ageing.

2.     Going To Bed Without Removing Your Makeup

It is too much of a hassle to remove makeup after a hectic day or a night out. But, sleeping with makeup on can lead to breakouts and a dull skin. Keep cleaning tissues beside your bed, if it is too much of a hassle to wash your face before going to bed.

3.     Stress

Stress is becoming an unfortunate reality of the modern times. Not only does it have a negative effect on your mind, but it also ages your skin at a faster rate. During the night, our body fights stress hormones, repairs and rejuvenates the skin.

4.     Sleeping Too Less:

Many of us have to often compromise on our sleep because of our work or professional commitments. But, getting too less of a shut-eye can actually age your skin faster. In a short duration, this can lead to dark circles and a lifeless complexion.

5.     Too Much Sugar:

Too much sugar in the blood causes glycation, which can cause wrinkles. So, next time when you feel like binge eating on your desserts, you know where to stop.

6.     Too Much Exercise:

Exercising is great for your health and skin. But, too much of an exercise can cause cell damage to your skin, making your skin old and wrinkly.

7.     Drinking Too Much:

We all are guilty of binge drinking at some point in our lives. But, excess drinking can fasten the ageing process by shrinking the blood vessels and decreasing the blood flow to the skin. So, next time when you are out drinking, remember to keep this cardinal rule in mind.

8.     Unhealthy Food:

If your diet contains too much of margarine, sugar, white bread, and processed food, then you are contributing towards early skin ageing. To prevent untimely ageing, include food items such as flaxseeds, olive oil, fresh veggies and avocados. These food items repair the skin and give you a youthful appearance.
